Swim & Dive Clinics
Swim Evaluation Preparation Clinics
Swim Clinics are intended to help swimmers learn the requirements to successfully pass the Minisink Swim Evaluation. 30 Minute guided group clinics show and demonstrate the skills swimmers need to complete the Swim Evaluation successfully. These are a great way for swimmers to learn the skills to continue practicing on their own or brush up on skills and receive some tips for passing the Swim Evaluation. For more information on Swim Clinics, please contact Mike Mirabella at PoolManager@minisinkclub.com.
Deep Water Test Clinic
The Deep Water Test Clinic is a 30 minute group clinic that is designed to show swimmers the requirements of the Minisink Swim Evaluation. Swimmers will be shown basic front crawl, floating / swimming on back, and treading water. This clinic is designed to help swimmers brush up on their skills in order to help them prepare for the Swim Evaluation. This clinic does not replace a structured swim lesson nor does it guarantee successful completion of the Swim Evaluation. Each area of the Swim Evaluation will be briefly reviewed throughout the 30 minutes. It is recommended that swimmers who participate in the clinic take at least a week to practice the skills reviewed prior to taking the Swim Evaluation.
Prerequisite: Swimmer must be able to comfortably swim in water on own without floatation and be able to swim 50-75% of the length of the main pool (proper swimming technique not necessary).
$20 for 30 mins (limit 2 registrations per member)
Treading Water Clinic
The Treading Water Clinic is a 20 minute group clinic that is designed to show swimmers the fundamentals of treading water. This clinic is designed to help swimmers brush up on their treading water skills to assist them in successfully completing the final component of the Swim Evaluation. This clinic does not replace a structured swim lesson. It is recommended that swimmers who participate in the clinic take the following week to practice the skills reviewed prior to taking the Swim Evaluation.
Prerequisite: Swimmer must be able to comfortably swim one (1) length of the main pool in current season and comfortably swim in water on own (proper swimming technique not necessary).
$15 for 20 minute lesson (limit 2 registrations per member)
Want to learn the basics of diving? Minisink Dive Clinics will teach the fundamentals of diving and competitive diving. The clinic will promote diving safety, confidence in using the boards, proper approach, jump, and diving techniques, as well as give participants a feel for what a “dive team meet” is like. Diving Clinics are a total of three sessions. Two sessions focus on skill development, confidence building, and practice. One session is a “Graduation Day” where participants and parents will be invited to watch a mock dive meet. Diving Clinics will be offered to all swimmers who have received a Green Bracelet in the current pool season. Participants must be 8 and over.
