Court Reservations

We have now moved our court reservations online. Click on the link below to reserve your court.

Click on the time and court that you would like to reserve. The default time is 90 minutes but can be changed to 30 or 60 on the first drop down menu on the reservation popup. From the drop down memu, chose yourself as player 1. Continue to chose players until all 4 selections have been entered. Player ABC and 123 are options for those playing singles. If playing with a non-member choose Guest 1, 2 or 3. The member making the reservation will be charged the $5.00 guest fee. Regular guest fees will apply during club open hours. Your password is your account number. Reservations can only be cancelled by the member that made the reservation. Please remember to cancel your reservation if you aren't or can't play, especially if bringing a guest as charges will be applied based on a log from this database.

Proper Tennis Attire Is Required At All Times


Strictly enforced at all times. No bathing suits, no non-tennis sneakers are allowed. If proper attire is not adhered to, you will be asked to leave the courts. Plan accordingly. 


Interclub Tennis
The Men’s, Women’s, and Junior’s interclub teams consist of Minisink members who compete against other clubs within their respective leagues.

Team Tennis
MEN’S TENNIS 
  

Teams have formed for this spring’s men’s tennis league but additional players are always welcome. The club fields a team in the NJTL (
http://www.njtl.org ) for both the spring & summer. All levels of ability. Commitment is a match each Saturday morning from approximately
9am to 11am between April 24th and June 12th. Some travel to away matches is required. If you've played team tennis or just casually and are interested, please contact Andrew Rondepierre (andrew.rondepierre@gmail.com) immediately so they can get you involved.


 WOMEN’S TENNIS 

Teams are forming for this spring’s women’s tennis league but additional players are always welcome as alternates. 2010  JUNIOR TENNIS TEAMS

The Minisink Club will offer 2 levels of team competition for junior players ages 9 to 18 (your age on August 15th, 2010 is your official “team age”). We compete in the New Jersey Junior Tennis Association league (NJJTA.com).  Both levels require tryouts and/or instructor permission for new players or players wishing to move up to the next level.  There is a team fee per player per team.

Fun Team:  Ages 9-12 wishing to begin match play.  This team is for low-intermediate to intermediate level players who can hit all strokes, can serve from the baseline, return serve, and can keep the ball in play against another player.  You don’t have to be perfect—but you have to be able to keep the ball going or it’s not fun!        

 Signups:  Interest list taken at Tennis hut during Pre-season clinic times.  (June 2,4-7,9,11-14,16,18 from 4-5pm.)                                                                                       

Tryouts:  Mon 6/21@4-5:30.    Please come ready to play.                                                       

Practices:   Wed 6/23 &Fri 6/25@1-2pm.  June 28-July 30: Mon & Fri 1-2pm. We will concentrate on scorekeeping, etiquette, rules, & match play.                                                      

Matches: Wednesdays, June 26-July 28, scheduled against other clubs and held either at Minisink or away.

 

Travel Team:  Ages 10-18 /intermediate to advanced levels. Our teams play in the NJJTA league (see NJJTA.com).  Boys & Girls age group teams:  12 & under, 15 & under, and 18 & under. Practices focus on match play. The number of teams we field in each age group will depend on the size of our age groups and the level of commitment from our players & families. Ladder matches will determine which team you’ll play on within your age group.

MEETING: Tues, May 25/ Players & Parents/ 6pm/ Tennis Deck

Pre-Season Practices & Tryouts:  Tue & Thurs, June 8&10, 15&17, and 22nd -----3:30-5pm (might need to be adjusted)                                                                            Matches:  Tues-Girls 12&u, girls 15&u and Boys 18& u.     Thurs:  Boys 12&u, Boys 15&u, and Girls 18&u.          

Practices: Mon & Fri: G12, G15 &B18. Tue & Wed: B12, B15 & G18.                  

NJJTA  Matches :  June 29-July 30. Tournament (recommended) is Aug 2-6. IMPORTANT!! Go to www.NJJTA.com   for  parent info, photo release, clothing requirements, & tournament info & signup.

Instructional Tennis Clinics

2010                                  TENNIS INSTRUCTION                                                                             Ages finishing Kdg and older, beginners through advanced. Class space is limited.  Signing up ahead is highly recommended. Payment is due when signing up.  No refunds for missed clinics.  Rainouts can be re-scheduled.  SNEAKERS W/ A SMOOTH SOLE ARE A MUST. NO STREET SHOES, SANDALS, FLIP FLOPS, RUNNING SHOES, CLOGS, bare feet, ETC.  Clothing:   Boys—shirt w/a collar & shorts. Girls: tennis dress or shorts/skirt & top.

CLINICS:

Pre-Season: MWF/ 4-5pm/June 2, 4—7, 9, 11—14, 16, 18.  /All levels/         Choose your days.  $12/clinic.  Call 908-766-5229 to sign up.

Regular Season:  June 23-Aug 6 / Beginner –Intermediate clinics /$60per week.  Times: 9-10am, 10-11am, and 4-5pm.  

Adv Match Training: Travel Team level    “work-on-your-strokes” clinic /11-12am/ M-W-F/June 23-July 30/ choose your days@ $12/hr or choose 5 clinic hours for $55.

Jr. Match Training: Fun Team level       “work–on-your-strokes“ clinic /                         Tue &Thur/11-12am/ Thurs, June 24-Thurs, July29.  Choose your days @ $12 /hour or choose all 11 for $120.

Adult Clinics: available by appointment.  Need minimum of 4.

Private Lessons: available by appointment.

Platform Tennis (Paddle)
Paddle Information

Interclub Paddle
The Women and Men interclub teams consist of Minisink paddle players who compete against other clubs in   New Jersey.
Women’s League (http://www.acesportsadmin.com/NJWPTL) play runs from October through February. Matches and practices are held weekday mornings or early afternoons.
Men’s League (www.njmpta.com) play begins in October.  Matches are scheduled Saturday mornings and informal practices   are occasionally called by team captains.  There is a fall season and a winter season.
 
Socials
Several socials are planned throughout the fall/winter season to help members improve their paddle skills and   enable them to become acquainted with other paddle enthusiasts on the courts.  Some of the events include   round robins and tournaments.  If you are interested in hosting a social, please contact Kevin Horan 973-635-4311 or 917-853-6387 (cell).
 
Clinics and Lessons
Players interested in learning how to play or improving their game can contact Bruce Humphreys for assistance.  Bruce can   run a variety of lessons as your partner, as one of your opponents, or as an observer of your match versus another team.

Congratulations to Jim Hartman and Rob Rosen, who successfully defended their championship title by winning again this year. Also congrats to the runner-up team of Jeff Dunne and Tad Van Leer. The weather was perfect and a fun day was had by all
