A Letter from the President 2010
Welcome members old and new to another great season at Minisink. 2010 is shaping up to be a busy one and I hope everyone enjoys the club to the fullest. Take advantage of the many activities or relax and reconnect with old friends as well as make new ones. At the absolute least – ENJOY!!!
There are plenty of activities being planned, some old traditions , some new ideas to check out. Check the website ( www.minisinkclub.com) and check your e-mail for schedules and details. We’ll be updating everyone as information becomes available. Minisink is increasingly going paperless – please keep your e-mail address up to date so you don’t miss out on any club communications. If you don’t have an e-mail, please contact Brenda Hynes, club Secretary, to receive hard copies of the club newsletter. She currently has 7 members who have requested hard copies. If you haven’t been receiving the newsletter, we either don’t have your e-mail or you’re not on Brenda’s list.
With the abundance of snow and rain the past couple months, the mosquito season is shaping up to be brutal. The news lately that NJ could have possibly lost 90% of our bat population to white powder syndrome will not help the situation. The Morris County Mosquito Commission schedules spraying according to the amount of phone calls they receive. About half way through last season, Minisink was finally sprayed and it was amazing the difference it made. Call early and call often – the number is 973-285-6450. The more members that call and make their voices heard, the more pleasant our summer season will be.
There are a lot of familiar faces you’ll see again this year. Todd Nixon and Chris Lake will be returning as our Manager and Assistant Manager as well as Lisa Boettrich and John Gullotta to steer the Mantarays to (hopefully) swimming victory!! Bruce, Deb and Carly will once again return to the courts and we’ll have Bunky, Trish & John back to run the snack bar.
Finally, I’d like to thank our outgoing trustees. Chris Agnew and Greg Castello, thank you for all your efforts to make Minisink a better place. A special thank you to Jack Maydick, our out going President, for his 20 years of dedication to the Minisink Board. You all will be missed. Join me in welcoming our three new board members. Rich West has taken on the responsibilities of Pools Ops, Rob Kraus has taken over as our new Treasurer and Tom Maroney has stepped into the Mainenance Trustee slot.
I look forward to seeing everyone for another awesome summer season. It’s right around the corner!!
